The living cost in India is increasing ever before. People are spending much more than before. Especially the people working at IT sector spending lot of money for parties get together, even for daily lunch and dinner. A medium class hotels are charging more than enough money comparing to the quality and service of the food we’re getting.
Leave about the hotels. What’s happening with the retailers? Suppose if you trying to buy a Coke which costs 8/- filled in a re-button bottle, you wont get it for that price. Let me explain few incidents.
The first issue happened at Kairali Theatre at Trivandrum. Normally the coffee shops charging almost double price for everything at their counters. If you buys an 8/- Cola, you will be forced to give 10 rs at least. The price is actually printed on the thick glass in black letters. People wont look at this as they want to escape from rush after getting their snacks and drinks. I just asked the cashier “Sir, this Cola only having an MRP of 8/-. Can you please check it? He said “no sir, it’s 10 rs”. When he repeated I shown him the the bottle and printed price. Then he took the bail by saying “Sir, we’re actually employees. Our owner take this shop for contract and asked us to charge this amount. If you’ve any complaints, please report it to the manager. but now, please pay the money which we’ve asked.” As I went there with my relative and I dint want to spoil the mood of the movie and kept myself irritated for few more hours.
See the 2 rs is not actually a big amount. I am very happy to give that small amount even a higher amount for the struggling people. I can’t understand what’s the rules and laws are doing here? Sure I was one among them, who never going to complain or keep the angry inside. There’s no use. But if this happens in U.S will he ever open the shop again? I am sure people will sue against him. But here the rules and regulations are much week. If we go behind these things, it will be risky. we may have to face bitter experience for the small amount.
The same thing happened at Bangalore when I brought a bottle of mineral water. They’ve charged the increased amount. I realized that this happens all over the country. Nobody including me reacts against it.
The other thing is the Auto charge. There are few good Auto Rickshaw drivers charging the actual fare. 80% of the auto and taxi drivers are getting double amount of the actual charge.
Here I’m working at technopark trivandrum. I am not having a car or two wheeler. I use the public bus service and rarely the company shuttle bus to reach techcnopark, I will have to get down at Karyavattom University stop and has to catch an Auto. Maximum 1-1.5 KM to the Bhavani building from the rear gate but what happens? They’re charging 20/- at least. I am luck enough because some guys are still paying 30 – 60 reach their office . This is a simple example. You’ll experience more if you get an auto and travel more than 2 KM in it. You will feel like paying to a 5* Auto.
All these are simple silly incidents. It’s happening more than this. Tell me still any rules and regulations are happening in this country? At least me, is not really interested to go behind these issues because I’ve other high priority things in my life. It’s bad I know. but when we will be having freedom from a black market like this?
Anyway, it’s Incredible India
